This standard applies to the dimensional tolerances of wrought aluminum and aluminum alloy rolled plates and strips.

1. Scope of use

This standard applies to the dimensional tolerances of wrought aluminum and aluminum alloy rolled plates and strips.

2. Definition of aluminum sheet and strip

Sheet

Rolled products with a rectangular cross-section, uniform thickness and greater than 0.20mm, usually cut or sawn at the edges, and delivered in a straight shape. The thickness does not exceed 1/10 of the width.

Strip

A rolled product with a rectangular cross-section and a uniform thickness greater than 0.20 mm. Usually the edges are slit and delivered in rolls. The thickness does not exceed 1/10 of the width.

Large-size sheet

Finished products with a width greater than 1500mm or a length greater than 4000mm are called large-size plates.

3. Thickness tolerance about aluminum sheet/strip

5A03, 5A05, 5A06, 5083, 5086, 5A41 and other aluminum-magnesium alloy ordinary grade plates and strips with an average magnesium content greater than or equal to 3% and a thickness greater than or equal to 4.0mm, the allowable deviation is ±5% of the nominal thickness, The allowable deviation of the thickness of other aluminum and aluminum alloy ordinary grade plates and strips shall comply with the provisions in the table below.

Note: For plates with asymmetrical deviation, when symmetrical deviation is required, the deviation of the corresponding strip can be adopted through negotiation between the two parties.

4. Sheet length tolerance

4.1 For common-grade plates with a thickness greater than 40mm, after rolling with the whole ingot, the head and tail are not cut, and the whole block is delivered.

4.2 The nominal length of the variable-section plate is calculated by the nominal thickness and average wedge degree of the thin end and thick end.

4.3 The length deviation of ordinary grade plates shall meet the requirements in the table below.

5. Allowable deviation of plate and strip width

The permissible deviation of the width of common-grade boards is in accordance with the regulations in the table below.
