5052 alloy materials are mainly used in petrochemical equipment, ships, transportation equipment, etc. The annealing process of coils in O and H24 states produced by large ingots of 5052 aluminum alloy is studied, and a reasonable annealing process system for 5052 aluminum alloy coils is formulated to produce qualified products that meet the standards.

Annealing test of 5052 aluminum alloy plate and its result and analysis

The production process of the 5052 aluminum alloy coil test material is as follows: the ingot size is 300mmx1240mmx3800mm, after equalizing fire in the melting and casting workshop, double-sided milling and milling, and pushing the heating furnace to heat the metal to 480°C~520°C for hot rolling, hot-rolled plate Thickness 8.0mm hot coiling, 1°C cold rolling mill rolling finished plate thickness 2.0mm, the coil is annealed in a 40t annealing furnace, straightened by a cross-shearing machine and cut into the width and length of the finished product. Among them, the samples annealed in the laboratory are cut from the coils that are cold-rolled to the thickness of the finished plate, and the annealing test is carried out in the laboratory to determine the reasonable annealing temperature range and annealing holding time of the plate.

From the annealing test results of samples cut from 5052 aluminum alloy coils in the laboratory, it can be seen that under the same annealing and holding time, the performance of the plate changes steadily in the annealing temperature range of 100°C~250°C; When the temperature ranges from 250°C to 320°C, as the annealing temperature increases, the tensile strength and yield strength decrease rapidly, while the elongation increases sharply. This shows that when the annealing temperature ranges from 100°C to 250°C, the annealing of the plate is in the recovery stage, and the internal structure only undergoes polygonalization and subgrain merging, so the performance changes smoothly. When the annealing temperature ranges from 250°C to 320°C, the internal structure of the plate changes from partial recrystallization to complete recrystallization. When the annealing temperature is higher than 320°C, the values of tensile strength, yield strength and elongation are basically unchanged. According to the annealing data of the 5052 test material, it is preliminarily determined that the annealing metal temperature of the 5052 aluminum alloy coil in the H24 state is 240°C~250°C, and the holding time is 1.0h; the annealing metal temperature of the 5052 aluminum alloy coil in the O state is 340°C~350°C , Holding time 1.0h.

  • (1) 5052 aluminum alloy coil annealing process parameters: H24 state, annealing temperature 240°C~250°C, heat preservation 1.0h; O state, annealing temperature 340°C~350°C, heat preservation 1.0h.
  • (2) The mechanical properties of the 5052 aluminum alloy coil produced by the above process are stable, meeting and exceeding the specified value for 5052 aluminum alloy sheet in the technical standard of GB/T3880-1997.
