Advantages of 5052 Alloy Aluminium Coil

The fatigue properties of this aluminum are very good, with a limit of 115 MPa in the H32 condition and 123 MPa in the H34 condition. Compared to other aluminum alloys, 5052-grade aluminium has moderate alloy content and strength. In a slightly alkaline environment, the 5052 alloy exhibits resistance levels. Its resistance to marine environments is superior to alloy 5005, making it a more popular choice for marine applications.

H3 indicates incomplete annealing and hardening of the aluminium sheet. The aluminum sheet needs to be stabilized to avoid it becoming too soft. Then the next number represents the hardness rating. As the number increases, so does the hardness grade and grade.

5052-H32 aluminum is quarter hard tempered, while 5052-H34 aluminium is semi-hard tempered. Another hardness rating is “6” for 3/4 hardness and “8” for full hardness.

  3. 5052 aluminium coils are class 5000. It starts with the number 5 because its central alloying element is magnesium. Sometimes they add manganese and magnesium alloys to the 5000 series.
  4. The last two digits, 52, represent the level in the 5000-level category. These numbers distinguish them from other alloy grades such as 5059, 5083, 5086, etc. ).
  5. Therefore, the 5052 in the aluminium coil refers to the addition of magnesium alloy to the aluminum coil, which belongs to the 5000 series.

What Is 5052 Aluminium Alloy Used For?

5052 aluminum coil is also widely used in ships. The construction and working environment of ships require materials with good corrosion resistance, weldability and plasticity, as well as certain tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and impact resistance. 052 aluminium alloy can meet these properties and can be used in ship construction, such as decks, sides, bottom plates, wheelhouses, portholes, masts, etc.
