1000 series aluminum sheets are generally soft aluminum and are not suitable for high-strength applications, but are suitable for applications that require corrosion resistance and conductivity, such as cables, wires, capacitor housings, kitchenware, decorative items, and chemical equipment, etc.
1000 series aluminum sheets have lower strength and hardness, but they can be cold worked (such as rolling, drawing and extruding) to increase their strength and hardness while still maintaining the high machinability of aluminum.
Common grades of 1000 series aluminum sheets include 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100 aluminum sheet, 1200, 1235, 1350, etc. Each grade has different aluminum purity and performance.
Since the 1000 series aluminum sheets do not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is currently the most common series in conventional industries.
The minimum aluminum content of the 1000 series aluminum sheet is determined based on the last two Arabic numerals of the series. For example, the last two Arabic numerals of the 1050 series are 50. According to the international brand naming principles, the aluminum content must reach more than 99.5% to be a qualified product. my country’s aluminum alloy technical standards (gb/t3880-2006) also clearly stipulate that the aluminum content of 1050 reaches 99.5%. For the same reason, the aluminum content of 1060 aluminum sheet must reach above 99.6.
